About Us

Refuge Church is a Bible based church who's core teaching revolves around Jesus' teaching. First, the greatest commandments in Matthew 22 - "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind...And you shall love your neighbor as yourself." Second, His command to the believers in Matthew 28:19 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Emphasis is also placed on 1 Corinthians 12, allowing every believer the opportunity to use their God-given abilities as part of the body. We believe that all parts are equally important and necessary, from the head to the feet. We are a church family based on close relationships, where each person’s gifts are encouraged to be used in various areas of ministry. Refuge provides a place to renew, reconnect, and reestablish these relationships. Our weekly small groups establish an environment to learn how to fulfill Jesus’ commandment to love Him and each other and take part in the body. Our prayer is that our friends, co-workers, neighbors, community and the world will notice this unique love and will desire to know Christ through our example. In Isaiah 25:4, the Bible describes the Lord as a 'refuge from the storm'. At Refuge Church, it is our desire to be a guide to the amazing life that is available inside the Refuge of the Lord.

We believe that the Bible, from cover to cover, is the inspired, true word of God and is to be used for daily life application. It is true regardless of age or culture. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, John 1:1, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe in one true God who created the world and everything in it, and that because man was given free will he chose to sin against God. (Genesis 1:1, 3:1-13, Romans 3:23)

We believe that because of mankind’s sinful nature and need for a Savior, God sent His Son Jesus, who was born to a virgin, and that Jesus died and became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. We believe He rose from the dead in three days. Because of His death and resurrection, we have been given the opportunity to accept Him as our Lord and Savior and live forever with Him in eternity. (Matthew 1:18-2:23, 27:11-28:20; John 15-16; Luke 2:1-20, 23-24; John 19-20, Romans 6:23)

These are our essential doctrines at Refuge Church, and we have unity in these areas. We give allowance for liberties in other non-essential doctrines, and encourage individual study in all areas. We understand that there will be certain level of diversity on non-essential doctrinal issues, and our goal is to handle these differences with love. Our desire is to provide a setting where you feel loved and accepted and are challenged and encouraged to live your life for Jesus Christ.
